Since the high fence was added to the property in early 2018, exotics are being added to the ranch for many reasons but mainly to enhance beauty. Below you will see the first time some of these animals stepped foot on the ranch.
The Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra), also known as the Indian antelope, is an antelope found in India, Nepal and Pakistan. The blackbuck is the sole extant member of the genus Antilope. The species was described and given its binomial name by Swedish zoologist Carl Linnaeus in 1758.
Zebras are several species of African equids (horse family) united by their distinctive black and white striped coats. Their stripes come in different patterns, unique to each individual. They are generally social animals that live in small harems to large herds. Unlike their closest relatives, horses and donkeys, zebras have never been truly domesticated.
Rhea, either of two species of large, flightless birds in the family Rheidae, order Rheiformes. They are native to South America and are related to the ostrich and emu. The common rhea(Rhea americana) is found in open country from northeastern Brazil southward to Argentina.
Armenian Red Sheep are believed to be a hybrid between the Armenian mouflon and the Transcaspian urial that occurs naturally in the Alborz Mountains of northern Iran and the Kavir Desert of north-central Iran. Saddle patch and bib may be present or not, and neck ruff and horn configuration are variable. In the western part of its range, where it blends with the pure Armenian mouflon, the horns tend to stay high above the neck. In the east the horns tend to come lower and more forward.
